The Indians would then score a run in the bottom of the 5th inning to cut the A's lead down to two runs. The comeback would be aided by the A's inability to score in the later innings. The Indians' comeback would culminate with a three-run homer in the 7th inning, and give them a 4-3 lead that would last the rest of the game. The Oakland A's scoring woes continued, as they would go seven scoreless innings and drop a three run lead and eventually the game.
