Saban's Policies Critized as Member leaves Team

Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban has drawn strong complaints, not from the media, but from a player. Backup Tide quarterback Jimmy Barnes filed for a transfer due to what he claimed was unprofessional handling of the players on the Alabama sqaud. Although Saban was supposedly shocked at the comments made by one of his own players, Barnes held firm on his standpoint. To be honest with you, it's the way [Saban] is treating kids," John Barnes told The Birmingham News . "What Jimmy told Saban was he was not going to give up his dignity and be treated like that." Barnes reviewed his choice to transfer with others on the roster, and made it evident that he was firm on heading to a D-1AA program because of Saban's actions.
