MLB Game of the Day: Giants vs. Dodgers

Yesterday, fans eagerly crammed into AT@T Park to watch the S.F. Giants try to get their season back on track against the mighty Dodgers of Las Angeles, who were aiming for their 10th consecutive win. The game would be a thriller for all who viewed it, and it was worth the wait for its conclusion. The first inning up the the fourth would remain scoreless, but in the fifth, two Dodger singles along with two home runs would lead to a 6-0 lead, that would be cut down to a 6-2 Dodger lead. LA Dodger Jeff Kent, who had singled in the fifth to build the lead, singled once more to score another, making the lead 5 runs, 7-2. Yet in the eighth inning of play, Randy Winn's monumental grand slam shot gave the Giants the oppurtunity to tie the game at 7 and force extra innings of play. Giant Pedro Feliz would single into center field in the bottom of the ninth to push Bonds to home plate, and tie the game 7-7. Unable to score once more, extra innings were required. Play continued in San Francisco by the bay until the 12th inning, where Rafael Furcal's deep sac fly scored a run, giving the LA Dodgers a win, their 10th in a row, 8-7.
