NHL Free Agency Moves

New splashes have been made by superstar skaters in the National Hockey League, as its the season for change: the free agency period that is. Many of the league's best have switched teams by deciding not to renew contracts and to sign with a different franchise. Before the free agency period officially started, the experts tried to determine where the chips would fall, but some moves were just too surprising for words. Some of the players on the move were Scott Gomez, Ryan Smyth, Chris Drury, Brian Rafalski, and Daniel Briere. Here is a list of the big-name transactions.

Chris Drury: Sabres to Rangers
Ryan Smyth- Islanders to Avalanche
Petr Sykora- Oilers to Penguins
Daniel Briere- Sabres to Flyers
Jason Smith- Oilers to Flyers
Brian Rafalski- Devils to Red Wings
Scott Gomez- Devils to Rangers
Jason Blake- Islanders to Maple Leafs

More updates on NHL free agency to come.
